OK....coming from a TL, I've found that the RDX Tech sub didn't give me the bass output as I had expected.

SO... I decided to experiment with the sound sources, namely 320kbps MP3 files. I selected a few that sounded great when bass was boosted from my android phone and streamed via Bluetooth...so how do I recreate that effect on the MP3s on my USB stick?

OK... here goes... and here's what you will need:

Idealshare VideoGO 6
MP3Gain


1. With Audacity, I loaded a MP3 and 'ctrl-a' selected the entire track. going into effects, I boosted the bass to setting of 7DB and exported as 32bit WAV.
2. loaded up idealshare videoGO 6 and loaded the WAV and converted it to 320kbps MP3. (you can use whatever tool you want to convert to mp3)
3. loaded MP3gain which 'normalizes' the MP3 and boosts the overall volume level to my 'preferred' preset setting of 93. When boosting bass in above method, the overall volume of the song gets decreased a bit since you're increasing the bass track of the song but mp3gain brings it back up.

DONE. songs sound great, if you want more bass - then use audacity to jack it up more...but be wary of distortion. depending on the song, adjust the bass as needed.

addendum.

you can skip the use of idealshare videoGO....by downloading/installing lame_enc.dll so that it allows audacity to encode back to mp3. instructions are provided by audacity.
