Problems with Voice Dialing - HandsFreeLink not very hands free!
Hi, guys. I'm a new member. I have had a 2013 RDX with Tech for about 3 months. Has anyone found a workaround for the lousy voice dialing set up? Right now, according to the Owners Manual, it's like a 7 step process to "Dial by Voice Tag". Painfully slow, and really distracting. A real danger for driving, if you ask me. On earlier year Acuras, voice dialing was simple (1. Press Call button, 2. Say "Call [XXX]," and dialing begins immediately).
Also, I know there are workarounds using the cell phone itself which bypasses the car's system and reduces your $4000 Tech package to a great big (and dumb) speakerphone, but that sort takes the "hands free" out of "hands free link." And it's not too practical for women (like my gf) who keep their phones in their purses.

RDX HFL-2011 RDX base model allowed hands free dialing for voice tagged contacts and also allowed you to speak a random phone number. The 2014 RDX base model does not allow speaking a non-voice-tagged phone number. They replaced it with a mini numeric typewriter interface which is extremely non-hands-free. However, the 2014 Nav model, which uses the same interface as the base model, except that it allows speaking a phone number. This is so backwards thinking. What's up Acura?
