Navigation Voice Guidance - I want it OFF

How can I turn off the voice guidance that tells you every 5 feet what you are going to do? The salesman "turned it off" for me, but the option he selected still tells me when I am making a turn and how far the turn is and I hate that. Is there an option for limited voice guidance? In my Audi I was able to do none, compact or full voice guidance.

I agree with you that it is very annoying; so far, I have not been able to find a way to limit the amount of guidance I get. I could set my '05 MDX for "minimal guidance," which I found acceptable, but the RDX seems to be "all or none" with 3 prompts for each turn.

There's nothing so "enjoyable" as setting the Nav system for a destination 400 miles away (which you now are forced to do before leaving home); then, having the system "guide" you out of your own neighborhood and town, with incessant messages about each of your upcoming turns.

do you know how to get it to none? the salesman said he did and the setting he used didn't work. i looked in the manual, but can't seem to locate it because it is still telling me where to turn with the options i've tried.

Check page 24 of the Navigation Manual - press "Info", rotate to highlight "Volume", press button to select, rotate knob to set volume to "off", press button to select.

You have the same problem as me....Can't turn women off....only can turn them on *lol*

In all seriousness, there is an option that you can turn the voice off. I am away from my RDX at the moment but will write back by tomorrow if no one else has written back or you still haven't figured it out.

i would have thought it would have been set deeper in the settings, but it was just the voice volume. not what i expected, but i do think she is gone for good. i highly wish there was an option for compact voice guidance.

That's a REAL pain. At least on my Lexus I could just say "disable guidance" and it would put an end to her....and then at some later point (when I got lost), I could just say "enable guidance" and it would then start yakking again.

On my mercedes, when the woman talks I can just hit the mute button on the steering wheel to shut her off. Does the rdx have a mute button?

Press the info/phone button, go to set up and select volume. Just turn off the volume and she'll be gone. She annoys me too and I'm a female 😋
