Navigation system map updates wiped out my AcuraLink subscription

I ordered and received the 2018 "Brown DVD update" for my 2016 RDX/Advance last week and my AcuraLink Connect package immediately stopped working after I installed it (no traffic, can't communicate with car from app, AcuraLink call button says I have no subscription even though phone app says that it's valid for another year, etc.). Worked with AcuraLink last week and they advised that I should take the car to my dealer. Dealer had the car for 2 days and re-did the installation while working with AcuraLink who finally indicated today that they are aware of the fact the the map update seemingly wipes out your AcuraLink subscription. It looks to me like it resets it to a default date back in 2012, which is why it no longer works. They don't have a way, from what I understand, to remotely connect to the car and update it. There is no fix yet and no timeline for one was provided to the dealer today.

So, if you have an AcuraLink subscription and you're thinking of buying the 2018 "Brown DVD update" I would recommend waiting until this issue is resolved. I will update this once I have more information or I give up waiting and request a pro-rated refund.

Same Problem Here...

Updated my 2017 TLX with the Brown 2018 Navi disc, and now Acuralink is broken.

Called Acuralink twice, and they said take it to the dealer. I knew this would be a waste of time, but I did it anyways.
Dealer did a full diagnostic and said the Telematics Unit was fine.

I called Acuralink from the Dealer, and told them the above, and they open a case #, saying it was a server problem on their end.

My Acuralink subscription status in the TLX says it is the Factory Default, citing year 2012. Not a good sign.

Also, the Acuralink status LED is "Off". It is supposed to be either Green (valid subscription) or Red (no subscription). But there is no LED lit at all.

I even tried pulling the battery hoping it would reset, but that didn't work either.

Update as of June.20.2018 -
Called “In Car Technology Support specialists” at (888) 528-7876.

Acura is now confirming this issue. Said many calls are from people who did the 2018 Map Update.

No fix yet. They are very aware of the issue and working on a fix. Said by next week, but couldn’t promise that.

I guess I’ll press the Blue Acuralink button in the car once a day for the next week or so and then call them again.

Once fixed, I plan to ask for a refund/credit for the time without service...

Thanks for the update. They were on my list to call today. I'll give it another week and see where things stand. I'm not too concerned about tripping over pennies for a 1 week refund, but would like the service to work as I regularly use many of the features. I'll update once I learn more.

Yes, sir! All is well again. I did have to re-enroll in the phone app, but it looks like we're up and running. Glad that the fix was on their end and didn't require another trip to the dealer.
