IOS and Android - which gets priority

2016 RDX w/ Advance Pkg. My wife has an iPhone 6s, I've got a Google Nexus 5x. My phone takes a little longer to pair with Bluetooth than hers does, apparently, so when I switch to BT audio, it always uses her phone. Even if I disconnect hers through the HFL interface, it will show mine connected for phone and hers connected for audio. This is super annoying, since all the music I want to listen to is on my phone. Short of turning BT off on her phone each time we're both in the car, has anyone come up with a solution to this? Or even experienced this?

I have an older 2013, so all I can think of is having you turn off your Bluetooth and then connect your phone via the USB port for the music.
