Has anyone tried installing gracenotes in their vehicle? Is it worthwhile?

 

Does not take that long to update. I think it is supposed to identify songs and albums played with CD or MP3 on a memory stick. I thought it would show an album cover on the nav screen. Some of the new Audis show album covers when playing the radio which is kind of nice.

 

That's what I was hoping for, to see album covers when playing satellite radio. My other vehicles (Jeep, Toyota) were capable of this.
If its only for CDs and MP3s then there's no real use, at least for me.

 

I have a 2013 RDX, so things may have changed. Also, I might be wrong. But I believe that album covers are only displayed for CDs and iPods. I don't even think they are displayed for memory sticks. And I'm pretty sure they are not displayed when simply using the radio. All of this should be described in the manual.

That's unfortunate, I wonder why Acura does not use Gracenotes as part of the radio. It was a nice feature to have on my previous vehicles. Seems like all audio sources display the album artwork (including pandora) except for satellite and FM/AM radio.
