Connecting iPhone via hardwire

Nav station connection: The Acura site shows a combo HDMI/USB splitter to plug into the console jacks, and the standard Lightning connection to the iPhone. This supposed to permit using phone apps on the nav screen. $99 ... Has anyone found a suitable alternative for less money? Success rate?

I don't see that at Acura.com or owners.Acura.com. Do you have a URL?

iOS cable kit for iPhone to nav station

AcuraLink iOS Cable Kit | HERE

It is found in the nav station section of Acura Navigation Center..... But, my bad! This kit is for an ILX Premium trim. The RDX does not have the HDMI port like the ILX does. Shucks! What a neat way to connect iPhone apps to the nav display.

Be careful...may not work as desired

My wife has a 2015 Honda CRV. I bought the HDMI connector only to learn it only works when you buy the Honda navigation apps. If the car is parked and running, it will display whatever is on the iPhone screen but slip it out of gear and the Honda radio shuts off the feed.
