Blackberry - Text message Notification
Blackberry - Text message Notification
Well first when i connected the phone Blackberry Torch (9800,) it loaded all contents including all text messages to date (May 13th was last msg.) I then setup the text message notification and read feature, however I'm having some trouble with it.
If I send a text message to myself (from another phone,) the car acknowledges that a new message has arrived and gives me the option to read it. When I press read (or whatever the function was,) it reads and shows the message from the 13th (the last message it loaded.) The May 29th message never updates on the system at all, however its on my phone.
Wondering if anyone else has experienced issues or may know what I should troubleshoot.

Just to clarify - have you gotten any new messages at all? Seems strange but definitely something that should be a relatively painless fix - once it's figured out of course! Is the BB Torch updated to the most recent OS?
I checked today and ONE new message from the 17th showed up, however tons of others are still not showing. The torch is on 6.0 Bundle 1907, which looks like the most current for this model. OS 7 is not available yet from what I've read.
Appreciate the help.
Texting seems to work for me with my BB Bold 9650. At least I'm notified that I received a text and from who (the actual address book name appears if there is one). I have to admit that the text-to-voice is sometimes hard to pay attention to, especially since a lot of people who text don't use proper grammar! It's a neat feature but I'd say there's about 50 other ones above it on my list for this great vehicle!
As a follow up to Cablerat - I'm still scratching my head. I don't recall getting my text history uploaded to the stereo, then again I never look at the stereo without the vehicle in motion so a lot of the texting options are greyed out. As annoying as it might sound you might consider erasing the phone from the stereo and re-connecting it via bluebooth. At least you shouldn't lose anything from the phone by doing that.

Appreciate the response. I've already tried removing the phone entirely and then reconnecting it, however same issue comes up.
I still get notification of the new text message, but when I tell it to read it to me, the new message isn't even there and reads out an old one. No matter how I go about it, the new message isn't there.. it shows all the old crap only.
Honestly haven't had time to mess with it much either, plus weather has been crappy the last week.. Hoping to play around more this weekend.
