We do not always want in on and can't figure how to shut it off. Only had the new RDX a few days but looked everywhere and tried voice commands too. What is the secret? Thanks

 

Not sure about the '16's controls, but on the '15 you hit the display button (the one with the moon/sun icon) and there are 3 modes - day, night and off. Of course, when you start up the car and don't hit the "agree" button for the navigation, the screen also goes blank....

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but to change the main screen there are 4 black buttons across the top of the main interface dial. I just push the audio button to display what I'm listening to. Hope that's what you're looking for.

So I just went out to parking lot and I'll be damned, saw that moon/sun icon and it worked fine. I appreciate the help. To many bells and whistles for me on this advanced model but love the drive!

 

I'm a 2016 owner too, and I must say that the "bells and whistles" are indeed a challenge... in no small part due to the duplication of controls/functions in the two screens. Cancruzr is correct in stating that the four black buttons above the main interface dial control what's shown in the upper screen. Be aware that many of the upper screen options are disabled when the vehicle is moving.
