2016 RDX - HDD Capacity
Hi,
Could not find this info easily in the manuals. What is the Hard Drive capacity on the 2016 RDX Advance that is available to store the songs that automatically get ripped from CDs?
Thanks.

The standard was 15GB for music and the rest for navi on a 60GB drive for HDD vehicles. I figure the 16 RDX would be upgraded only get current Acura tech standards. Might have to look at the NSX or +17 RLX/MDX to see if the storage capacities might change in the future.

Did anyone try to replace HDD with SDD in any 2013+ RDX? Is HDD that Acura is using pretty standard? That would increase loading speed and all-around work speed and add more HDD space for music, unless available space is pre-programmed. But even then it could probably be tweaked.

Correction: SSD. I am new here, is there a way to edit previous posts?
There was a relatively simple HDD to SSD upgrade process for BMW.

I might have made a mistake on the HDD size. The +2016 uses 39544-TX4-A21 and I don't know what is the max size (assuming 40GB). Previous Acura models used a 40GB 39176-STX-A64, 39176-STX-A63, or 39176-STX-A62. I only know that because I saw a picture on eBay and they had a photo of the top of the HDD. I wanted to see what was used for the HDD to do the same thing and update to a larger drive or solid state (saved the eBay pics almost 2yrs ago because it was so hard to find).
Considering the Navi, phone, address book, music, wallpaper, firmware, and who know what else; I decided it would be too much labor and potential problems just to have additional music capacity. The USB plug was a easier solution and I just leave a 64GB flashdrive plugged in and end up in the same place.
If the HDD fails, I might consider going with solid state since OEM 40GB replacements drives are $350-$400 (or pay $20 for the same drive on Amazon or $70 for 240GB SSD for the standard 2.5" laptop size drive). Don't know if the Acura system will adjust for the extra space or hardwired to only give 15GB for music?

Thank you. I am already using USB flash drive for my music as well as HDD that have copies of my CD's. However, I see that system performance could be much faster, such as loading maps, looking up saved information etc. Therefore, SSD would greatly improve overall performance. I will stop by a local dealership and ask their technicians.
