Does anyone know where the 2014 RDX is put together? Is it Japan or the USA plant? Thanks in advance.

Only the RLX and the TSX are made/assembled in Japan.

70% of the parts used in the RDX are manufactured in the U.S. & Canada. However, the transmission used in the RDX (for better or worse, it's not clear yet) is completely manufactured in Japan.

Today, with robots doing a lot of the important work on the car (welding, painting, etc.) it really doesn't matter where the car is made (as long as the initial setup was good). The main thing I miss from cars made and shipped from Japan is the cosmoline they used to spray on the entire car, especially the undercarriage. It prevented all the rust you see after only one winter of driving.

 

How things have changed in just a few years. My 2006 RSX and then 2005 TSX were 100% completely assembled and manufactured in Japan.
