Checking-in guys! Recently picked up a '14 Graphite Luster Metallic RDX AWD w/ Tech about a week ago coming from an '08 Laguna Blue Pearl Honda S2000. I have to admit that there is a huge difference in size and basically everything else, but I do love the new baby. Well, I'm glad to join the forum and hope we can all help each other out!

New guy checking in. Just purchased a 2014 AWD w/ Tech, Forged Silver, yesterday. It's my wife's primary car, replacing an 06 BMW 325xi. We stepped down a bit in handling and quietness, but a huge step up in size, features, and (hopefully) reliability. We are long-time Honda people, having owned 6 Hondas prior, between us. I drive an Odyssey van. I hope to learn from all of you on this forum!

Howdy!
Brand new 2014 RDX white w/ tech owner here. Just back from the dealership sans RDX. They are tinting the front side windows and installing the side boards tomorrow then she'll be all mine this weekend.
Retiring my 2001 BMW X5 4.4. I should probably say that she is retiring herself...

I'm on my 5th Acura and got a 2014 RDX Tech with every option except wood trim (as a guy I prefer the brush aluminum look) and so far I'm loving it!! Its black on black I will post a pic later. My previous Acuras were 2003 Integra, 2001 MDX, 2001 Integra, 2007 TL! LOVED all of them! happy driving everyone!!

New member- have had my white 2014 RDX for about a week. I'm an Acura driver for 22 years! Integra for 13 years, then 2005 MDX. Love my Acura RDX, all except getting used to bumpy ride compared to MDX. I know the 2012 was worse, so hoping I can get used to it.

I had a "wimpy Prius" for just over 8 weeks. Could not stand it- the horrible tiny steering wheel, crummy visibility, and the driver's seat was like a wooden dining room chair. Good mpg, but that's all!

Thanks to everyone posting here in helping us to make the decision to pull the trigger on the RDX!
Considered: Fords (Escape, Edge, new Transit Connect minivan), Mazda cx5, Subarus (Outback and Forester), Tiguan, used BMW x3 and Volvo.
The RDX came in at the best combination of reliability (we hope!), handling, power, hauling-stuff capability, and comfort. The decision came down between a 2012 RDX with about 28,000 miles on it and a new base 2014. While I liked the looks of the 2012 a little better, the numbers (price taking into account financing and MPG) made it a wash. So a 2014 it is! Just picked it up yesterday.

Hi everyone, new forum member here but I was lurking last week and found the threads here very informative for my purchase of a 2013 RDX, that I completed yesterday!!
I traded in a 2010 Subaru WRX which is was very sad to see go but my wife and I have a baby on the way and after months of painstakingly researching the market, the RDX came out the most suitable for a shared car that fits all our needs.
I'm looking forward to being part of these forums and sharing knowledge of these cars.

Just traded my wifes 2013 Cadillac ATS on a 2015 RDX awd Tech. Very nice vehicle and it suits our needs more than the Caddy as we travel a lot with two dogs and a trunkful of stuff. I will miss the performance and handling of the ATS but I have my own 04 S2000 for that kind of stuff.

Burning Brakes
Thought I'd do a quick intro (and also add to my posts total so I can create a signature, among other things). I'm Andy and I live in Southern NH. I'm a long-time Honda and Acura owner, and could go on quite a while on the various vehicles our family has had in this space.
Specific to this forum, I recently traded in a '13 MDX base for a '15 RDX AWD Tech package. I was into the 3rd year of my MDX lease and was finding the MDX was just too big for what my needs were and worked with the dealer to move into the RDX, which was much better suited to my needs. I know there are threads here talking about MDX vs RDX, so hope to offer some of my observations in making the move.
The other current Honda/Acura vehicles in my family are my son's '14 Accord LX (which he got last summer in a zero-down lease - he's a teacher and doesn't have much cash, so this worked for him and he's very happy). The other is perhaps a car whose owner grossly under-utilizes what she has. My wife has a '12 TL Tech w/SH-AWD. She got the car since she wanted AWD for her commute to work and wanted something akin to her old '93 Legend which she loved. The TL fits her needs perfectly and she's always got a smile on her face. But let's just say that the real value of the SH-AWD doesn't really get tested until I get behind the wheel- and as a result it's probably a good thing I only rarely drive the car since my wallet might be a lot lighter since it's such a blast to drive in a sporty fashion.
Anyway, more to come as I get more established here. I'm fairly technically knowledgeable, and am an avid winter tire/wheel config guy, so hope to share my thoughts in that area over time.
Cheers - andy

2016 RDX Advance Blk/Blk
Hi! I just bought a 2016 RDX AWD Advance on Monday, and am expecting to pick it up in the next couple of days. This will be my second Acura - I had a 2005 TSX previously, moved to an Infinity EX35 for about five years, now am coming back to Acura about 112k miles later. When I had my TSX, I found Acurazine to be extremely useful. I'm excited to see that this site is still so active! Thanks in advance for any future tips/advice that I find here!

New 2016 RDX FWD Advance
We finally traded in our 95 BMW 540i for a new 16 RDX FWD with Advance package. We really only wanted the Technology and Acura Watch Plus setup but it seems none of our local dealers stocked them, so we got the loaded model. Decided we didn't need AWD since we live in Palm Springs and we will get slightly better gas mileage. Our color choices were white or red and we chose the latter. We now have three red cars: an 04 Acura TL, a 91 Honda Accord, and our RDX. We are now firmly in the Honda family. We test drove a Volvo XC70, a Discovery Sport, an SRX, and a Jaguar sedan, and thought about the BMW X3, but in the end, the Acura value proposition won us over. We loved our BMW but the repair costs were killing us, and I did not like our local BMW dealer. Acura of the Desert are really nice folks and we got to bottom line pricing pretty quick and they didn't try to force a bunch of ad ons, and admitted that our Credit Union financing was better than theirs. Now we have to master all of this new technology. It is amazing how much has changed since we last purchased our Acura TL in 2004.

I should have added the following to my earlier post:
I've been a long-time Mercedes-Benz enthusiast. My first MB was a 1984 300 turbo diesel (W123). My most recent MB was a 2006 E350 (W211). The E350's extended warranty had expired and I needed to move on. I seriously considered an ML350 (now called GLE350) SUV.
The drive-away (after taxes and everything) different in price between the ML350 and my 2016 RDX Tech was at least $20K. I've owned my RDX for three months and have put about 3K miles on it. The more I drive my RDX the more convinced I am that the ML350 offers me nothing over what my RDX gives me. In fact, (based upon my first-hand experience) in the long-term my RDX will be a more reliable vehicle that the ML350 would have been.

2016 RDX Advance
Longtime Acurazine lurker, traded (dare I say) my 2010 TSX 6-speed for a 2016 RDX Advance. Still breaking in the car, can't tell if led headlights are better than the HID's I had previously, but the newfound ride height! We all can now match those minivans.

2013 Acura RDX Base
Hi all!
I'm not new to auto forums, but I am new here. The previous 3 forums I joined was because I was looking for solutions to problems. Here, I'm actually not neurosing over auto issues (yet?)! I'm joining to get hear about others' experiences and maybe, just maybe, if a curious or complicated issue comes up, I can switch gears and see if I can tackle problem myself after combing through forum.
I've been in the RDX for about a month and it's a pretty good fit for me in all areas of auto-ness based on previous cars:
Overall ownership
Auto Ins
Fuel consumption
Maintenance costs (only estimated based on research ... haven't had to do anything yet)
After three cars, I've finally figured out that I should check for any auto insurance increases!
Previous owner (only one) kept records and was on time for maintenance service visits. Non-smoker and no pet (at least no evidence).
I have a road trip scheduled in mid-July...that'll be an excellent opportunity to get to know this car really well if I haven't already done so by then.
Cheers!

Greetings Acura brethren... just picked up my 2017 Modern Steel Metallic RDX AWD w/Advance Package and absolutely love it! Sold my 2006 TL in late 2014, bought a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition and was extremely disappointed with the Jeep so I decided to get out of it while I could get a decent trade value and am back with Acura. I shouldn't have ever left!

2017 awd rdx base Black on Black
Hello everyone. I just picked up a Black on Black rdx awd. Was shopping for a 5 seat CUV with decent cargo. Local acura dealer made me a deal I could not refuse. About 10k less than other competitors. Want to add led interior, door and plate bulbs. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Here are a couple quick snaps next to it's stable mate.
I love black.
Love the headlights. My other baby.

I very much want to get a new- (third-) generation RDX as soon as they appear. I think that they will appear on dealer lots on about Jan 1, 2018 and be called 2019 models. That date would give Acura just over a year to do what it wants to do with the 2017 CR-V to make it into an RDX. (Current CR-V's hit dealer lots last December.) That would also give the 2018 models under eight months of sales unless both the old and new models are both sold together. (VW will do this with the Toureg in the fall.)
Anyone here have information on the third-gen. RDX here? Turbo 4-cyl.? Will SH-AWD reappear? What transmission? Etc., etc
My wife and I share an '07 MDX which we will keep a while longer. It is the most reliable car/SUV I have ever owned. I plan to sell my '03 S2000 this summer, leaving us with one car for a while. This Honda roadster is a great vehicle and has given us a great deal of fun since we bought it (new). However, we live at 7000' now and the S2000 does not do all that well in the snow without 4WD, even with all-season tires.
