Not sure why it would even be the best choice for you given the gas prices unless that you need the 6-cylinder power at all times which is an unlikely scenario.
If you are cruising at a constant speed on a highway why all 6 cylinders have to work? what extra value except consuming more gas does it provide? That is actually the main idea behind the variable cylinder management system to shut down the cylinders that are not needed to save fuel and I personally have benefited greatly from it on highway by getting 30+ MPG at 70MPH.

Have you tried a VCM deactivation device before?

No and I don't see the benefits of using one. If I cruise at a constant speed and my RDX engages only 3 cylinders to maintain that for me I don't want to engage all 6 cylinders and pay more for gas to achieve the same thing. For other application like towing, acceleration, or hill climbing all 6 cylinders will be engaged that serves my purpose. Thus what specific advantage do I get if I deactivate the system?

Well, then you have absolutely no way to know if "you've benefited greatly" with VCM, if you have no basis for comparison without VCM...notwithstanding whatever "benefited greatly" actually means in quantitative terms. There's many in this forum who've actually used their RDX (or other Honda / Acura vehicle) with and without VCM...and choose to run VCM deactivation, for a few beneficial reasons.

Having said that, I do however think you have bigger issues...in that by your own posts, you've lost 10% of your "claimed" highway MPG. Well that, and you seem to have a problem keeping your stories straight...

Here you post you're getting 33 MPG (which is a claimed 13.8% above the EPA rating, BTW)

Then your MPG dropped to 30 MPG highway (still above EPA rating)

And here you note your RDX has "less power" with a grade of fuel you've never used???

Though it has nothing to do with VCM / fuel mileage, this is probably my favorite of your contradictory posts...So adamant about being Mr timing belt swap expert!

But wait...when you screw up the water pump on your RDX TB swap and have to have a mechanic come fix it for you, you admit...

OOF!!!

There's plenty of other examples where you've posted garbage and proven completely wrong. I have to ask...do you actually know how to calculate fuel mileage? Are you forgetful? Inept?...or just have a problem with facts and being truthful?

Driving home my new to me 2013 Tech AWD 80 miles with half talk of unknown grade fuel. Topped off with 87 octane and showed 400 + miles range and 27 point something MPG on the in-dash onboard calculator. Ordering an S-VCM from webpage linked above.
