Usb Flash Drive Folders

I loaded new folders onto my USB flash drive to play in my car and now the navi is not seeing the new folders. Is there a reason why? Should I try to refresh the folder?

Not sure...I use a USB stick in my RDX and never had any problem seeing them. Now you will find many annoyance with the USB and its folder functionality but I will not ruin your disappointment....You can see my gripe in the problem section.

^^ There can be some advantages to put them in folders but also some drawbacks. I have my artists in Alphabetical order (an A folder for artist with last name A, a B folder for the artists who's last name start with B and etc)

I think the car has a memory setting personally where it remembers the directories of a certain usb device. Therefor I moved files onto it and it did not see the new files. I am trying to recopy everything again as a whole. I will let you know how it goes.

I put all my music (in folders and subfolders) on USB stick. I only had an issue once where the stereo told my that the stick was unrecognisable. Turns out this particular USB had a built in security software that was messing with the car's stereo. Once I reformatted the stick everything worked fine.

What formatting did you use to make it recognize the USB? I feel like I've tried everything

Standard FAT format is what I used. Though I have had a hard time getting it to recognize some flash drives. Large capacity, USB 3.0, and the small monolithic drives seem to be problematic.

Question Search Folders?

I use folders too. Is there any way to search?? I've looked and don't think there is, I'm pretty sure it's just scroll and scroll.....

Had to ask...
