Turn off the lady!

When going from one audio mode to another (a.m. to f.m. to x.m. for example), the lady's voice comes through the speakers and says: "1040, 101.5, Symphony Hall", etc., each corresponding to the just dialed in station in the new mode. Is there any way to turn her off? That is highly annoying.

Yes there is, I just need to be home where I can get the exact menu selection (and name) to guide you through it...someone will likely help you before I get the chance to do it but if not...I'll do when I get home.

In the Nav Manual, trouble shooting.

How do I turn on the navigation system voice guidance?
1. Press the INFO button. Rotate i to select Set up and
press u. Check that Volume is not set to OFF.
2. Move y to select Other, rotate i to select Basic
Settings, and press u. Set Voice Recognition Tutor
to ON if you want the system to provide confirmations
and system prompts.

(i, u, and y are the usual movement, and button push for the main Nav knob.)

Good luck, Jim

Usually a belch or other rude body noise will do it.

*LMAO* You have been reading my replies too much...you seem to be developing the same twisted sense of humor as me - Which is good!

But seriously, did you figure it out or you still want me to explain it?

"Entering unverified area"

Anybody know how to turn that off besides turning off the NAV screen alltogether?

Oups...Sorry Jim...wrong hawkeye.

Juice...I agree that this is really annoying and I am not sure why this feature was even considered when they developed it. Its the most annoying thing....My subdivision is one of those "unverified area" and it annoys the crap out of me...
