What is the fastest speed that you have obtained?
Did you activate any speed limiting device or was it drag limited?
What was the instant mileage reading that that speed?

I've done 80-85mph. While cruising it can be in the 30s on the instant gauge.
How about you?

Do you know what the RDX is limited to?
This is the first I hear of a speed limiter.
I had seen Mercedes G Wagons with this but a simple button would take the limiter offline.

You will find a lot of cars limited to 120 these days (most Fords for example).
I do not know for sure, but I would be more suprised if it was NOT limited to 120.
It has been a long time since I was young enough and stupid enough to run a car to its max speed on the road that was back in 1995 with a Ford Crown Victoria rental which was limited to 120.

Given how high the vehicle is off the ground one would assume that drag would likely limit the vehicle to right around where the electronic nanny would cut in anyway.
Back in the day, cars had speedometers that stopped at 85. I buried many of them but I'll never know if that was 85 or 105 or 125. I didn't care, I was 16 or so and indestructible.

I think manufacturers that use speed limiters generally match them to the speed rating for the OEM tires. Thus if you get a BMW without the sport package you get H tires and a top speed limited to around 130 mph. Opt for the sport package and you get Z tires and a top speed of around 149.

That wouldn't be just outside Austin where I've been stopped twice for <5 mph over the limit.
On the other hand, we do have that 80-85mph stretch on the toll roads around here(watch out for feral hog traffic). I've touched 100mph in the RDX pretty effortlessly...can't tell you how much faster it will go, however.

jeez louise folks....it's crazy to explore the top speed of a car like the RDX. This isn't a high performance vehicle - not one that will handle well at extremely high speed. Keep a lid on it. I recall many 'muscle cars' of the 60s and 70s - all were simply dangerous at speeds over 90mph - despite the advertising hype.
Save the 'testosterone runs' for Vette's, Porche's, Ferrarri's, etc., that are built to handle high speeds.

Sim. to CoachRick Here as .......
I'm 4hrs NE of him up in NETX, so not much opportunity to enjoy the 80-85mph TRs he has down there.
That said I have 75mph all day long on interstate here & like him have touched on 100 sev. times.
That will all change this summer when I head west to WY/CO/NM. Multipile 100s+ in the CRV last year so looking forward to stretching the RDX's legs out a bit, standby for an update come July-Aug. time frame.

Do tell more? I'm thinking of moving there. Are you saying they are lax about it or that there is few enough cops that you won't likely see one?
Well... those models are no more guaranteed to remain under your control than my TL. I have at least one friend that did not use the insurance money to replace his annihilated Porche because he said it "failed him and what he had bought it for" when he got in an accident trying to outrun 13 police doing around 130. (Previously he had successfully escaped a few times)

It came with V rated tires for a reason.

Yeah, but the RDX is still an SUV, or a 'crossover.'
It isn't build to perform at high speeds; crazy to assume otherwise.
I've owned several vehicles that were very, very comfortable at speeds like "a buck-thirty." The RDX isn't one of them, although I like it a lot for what it is.

I have broken the century mark several times but not for extended periods of time. The RDX was smooth and seemed to have plenty more left. Wind noise was pronounced though. My MDX, on the other hand, is positively bored around 100. Heavier vehicle, and you feel it at the higher speeds. Feels more planted and solid than the RDX which has more dartiness to it. Really, that could be said for all speeds though.
