Smile Took the plunge!

Bought a 2014 Tech FWD yesterday. Thanks to all who answered my earlier questions etc.

I've managed to get my phone and home link working with no issues. I definitely agree with others that the Nav and voice recognition will require a bit of learning curve.

Noticed the dealer must not have put enough air/N2 in the tires since they were all reading about 28/29 lbs this morning and the TPMS came on. Does anyone know if each sensor has a different threshold? I'm asking since some were blinking and others weren't even though they read the same.

Also had a strange thing happen once when I tried to start the engine, not sure if I took my foot off the brake too early, but basically it sounded like the thing was stuck trying to crank but wouldn't start. I turned it off and it then tried again and it promptly started.

Other that that so far so good, only about a hundred miles so far!

Mike

Mike (mdfree)....Welcome to the RDX family and congrats on buying a girly SUV (LMAO....just kidding....reference to another thread you will see here). I have been driving the RDX for over a year now and it is an amazing vehicle and I am convinced that you will be very happy with your purchase.

You are correct that the voice activation command/navigation is not what are part of the strength of the RDX but it can be overlooked when factoring the whole package.

The starting problem you describe may have been related to the pressure applied to the brake pedal. It has happened to me once but I was distracted as I was starting the vehicle and recall not leaving my foot on the pedal with the same consistent pressure and lifted my food a bit too early. See if that was just isolated problem....and keep checking with us if you have any other questions or comments.

PS....Make sure you adjust your audio setting. I found that the speakers have too much of a centre channel bias and in fact, I pushed the fade a little toward the rear to create a more balanced sound distribution.

PPS...You will need to post pics and until that happens, what color did you get?

Nice! What color, etc?

I think the tire sensors are supposedly set to the same point but I'd imagine there's some variation. Maybe it rounds up on the display so 27.5 shows as 28 but it's still flagged as too low? I checked my tire pressures and they were all the same by my gauge even tho the monitor showed a couple psi variation. I think there's a disclaimer in the manual that you should use a good gauge to check them & not rely on the pressures shown in the monitor. The whole TPMS is kind of a ball park thing anyway...it's meant to catch low pressures but I don't think any of them are all that accurate. Sounds like yours are a few psi low. Check them with a gauge. I like to run mine a few psi high...usually 35 psi.

Don't know about your started thing. I haven't had any issues with mine.

Hope you like yours as much as we like ours so far (Nav and all ).

Thanks Weather and markAZ. I went with the White Diamond and Parchment interior. Mark as you know it's "hot" here in Az. I'm swinging by the dealer tomorrow to drop off a few things and will have them add some N2 and ask about the starting anomaly. Not sure if I'll be smart enough to post pics yet ;-)

Pretty toasty here in central Texas, too! Average high in August was over 100 degrees! Are you considering tinting the front windows? I believe it's making quite a difference for us...we went with 'one step lighter' than the rear tint...blends nicely and isn't too dark when looking out.

Enjoy the ride...we're 13 months in and headed for our 12K mile check this week. Very pleased with the vehicle!
