That's not surprising considering the refreshed model was just launched. I have a feeling the MDX will outsell RDX in the coming months.
Anyway it's good news for Acura.

I would be curious to see what percentage of the RDX sales were 2015 models. Probably some good deals on those helped the numbers.

The 2015 YTD sales figures through June 2015 for luxury branded SUV's (Acura, Audi, BMW, MB, Infiniti, Cadillac, Lincoln, etc.) show that The RDX is #5 with 25,713. The four ahead of it are all bigger models; Lexus RX at 44,279, Cadillac SRX at 30,207, Acura MDX at 29420, and the BMW X5 at 29151. In the luxury compact segment the RDX is #1 followed by the Audi Q5 at 21666, Lexus NX at 20049, MB GLK at 13835, and the BMW X3 at 13283.

June's sales of 5056 for the RDX are actually down from May's 5343 figures. Once the 2015's are depleted, it will interesting to see if good sales figures follow.

Kind of shocked that the cadillac SRX managed to sell that many units, I mean really, it has been the same model for 7 years. It is aging big time, in fact it was sort of aged the day it came out.

It is obvious that Acura made the right move by toning down the RDX, the previous one would have NEVER outsold the MDX. I hope they use these good sales figures to provide an even better third gen RDX and 4th gen MDX.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was due to the large incentives to clear out the remaining 2015's coupled with the relatively limited inventory of the 2016's.

GM seems to have very lucrative lease rates. Whether actual sold or lease figures, I don't think the figures differentiate between the two.

See that makes much more sense. I can't imagine them really managing to push that many of these stale things out the door.

Beauty is in the eye of beholder, but I've always liked the SRX. As I mentioned in another post, the 2017 looks even better.

Plus I always applaud GM for offering 20" wheels on this size of vehicle (c'mon Acura!)

Current Model

2015 XT5 (new SRX)

I liked the SRX when the current gen first came out many years ago, but I find the design stale now. My co-worker just picked up a 2015 SRX three months ago and it's already had to go into the shop twice. Once was because the passenger window wouldn't go back up and the other issue was related to excessive squealing from the brakes. Both issues were fixed quickly, but still, not very confidence inspiring if you ask me.

Absolutely. Taste is 100% subjective. I never said the SRX was ugly, actually quite the contrary, it has some really good lines. I just hate how when you look at it sideways, the body plunges towards a nose heavy front end. I also don't like how the front end itself points down to the floor at an angle.

I would however still buy one, especially with the very nice current 3.6 engine.

I'd ridden in a colleague's new Cadillac SRX but found the ride too stiff for my taste. Don't know if it's related to that particular car or not but I quickly lost my appetite for this model. Everything else is okay but if I can't stand the ride, then it's out of my contention.

I am glad they did this instead of making it floaty and lifeless like the lexus rx. It also has a relatively short wheel base, so it is expected to be a little bit stiffer.
