Seat Memory Intermittent

The seat memory positions based on which key is used has become intermittent. Works about half the time, balance of time it simple fails to move when opening the door. Pressing the Seat button on the door will cause it to adjust properly. Problem exists with both driver keys 1 and 2.
Worked 100% of the time since new until a couple weeks ago, now for some reason not it works only about half the time.

There was a semi common issue with older mdx's where the side mirrors would get stuck while adjusting, like you know when you are adjusting the mirrors. Do your side mirrors pop at all while adjusting them? This used to cause issues where the memory would not work all the time (my mdx has this issue) because it gets caught on the mirror switching.

Are both key fobs close to the car when it doesn't adjust? We have an issue where if my wife last drove the car (so it was set to her settings) and we both are getting in and she has her fob in her purse it won't adjust to my settings if she's close to the driver side door when I open it. If I wait until she's on the passenger side before I open the door, it works OK. One time I had both fobs in my pocket and it adjusted to hers. And hers it #2. She says the car likes her better. Kind of funny, actually, but sometime a little irritating. Anyway, that might be your issue.

Yep ours has done this since we bought it. The funny thing is if my girlfriend is driving(she has key 1) it will fail to adjust for all the time, but if I use her key it always moves the seat up to her spot and I have to hit the #2 door button to get it to my position. We have the same issue with the door handle. Sometimes it opens the lock when you walk up (with either key) and sometimes it refuses to open and you have to hit the button on the key fob. Very frustrating they can't get this right on a premium vehicle.

The proximity feature of the key fob has very limited range because of the weak signal strength. As you know it will only work if you are standing within a few feet of the imaginary "cone" that radiates from the drivers or passenger door, or the rear hatch. This isn't a flaw, but rather a feature so that people can't open your doors when you are in the house, or even if you are on the other side of the car. As a result of the low signal strength it is susceptible to interference from other sources. These sources could include nearby radio transmitters (TV, Radio, Wi-Fi cameras, etc, etc) or the interference could come from electrical motors, arcing wires, etc.

If you experience the problem primarily in the same location, you might consider EMI as being the cause. On the other hand, the push buttons on the fob transmit a fairly powerful signal, intended to work at larger distances. I have noticed at least a 1/2 KM range over open ground.

It's interesting that you mention WiFi. I had some trouble with our keyless entry feature when the car was in the garage. We have a camera in the garage, which was on our WiFi network. I was also having trouble with HomeLink opening our garage door. I read somewhere that this might be affected by WiFi, so I hard-wired the camera in the garage. This seemed to help with our HomeLink problem. I did not even think about the keyless entry problem, but now that you mention it, I believe we have had fewer issues with that as well.

I understand the theory of safety but the feature doesn't work near as well on the RDX as it did on my 2007 Audi Q7. It is completely random when it decides not to work and seems to be at the most inopportune moments such as dark parking lots, or when its pouring rain.
