Has anyone put a remote start on their RDX. I have a remote start on my 06 RL and it works great but the remote start on my 10 ZDX sucks. Basically it shuts the car off when you open the doors and there's no work around AFAIK for it... will the RDX have the same issue?

 

I guess it will be avaible as an option in 2013

 

It seems that all recent "from the car manufacturer" remote starts have this feature. I assume it deters theft.

Your best bet would be to get one from a box store or your local car customizer. These systems don't have that feature or allow you turn it off/on. They also come with iphone/android apps and lots of other cool features.

 

The Acura of Canada site as it as an option, which is pretty weird!

 

This is correct, and actually Acura just released specs on the all new remote start system for the RDX and ILX. Easier to use, lock and unlock functionality, etc. Will be available soon.

I had a 2012 RDX and had the Acura branded remote starter installed. I liked the remote but it was too big to be honest. But my main complaint was the car had to be turned off in order to get in. When I traded the RDX in for a TSX, they threw in a free remote starter for me since there was an issue with the RDX. I had a Viper system installed and it's far superior. Smaller remote fob, I can enter car when it's started, and I can even double tap the remote while vehicle is on and key in ignition to keep it running when I remove the key. Think Emergency vehicle setup, no keys.

 

Hmm.. now I'm debating on getting the Factory Remote Start (if I end up getting the RDX)

 

Is there a new improved remote starter for the rdx and does it use the existing remote,is it available in the US
