Now that the '16s have been out for about a year and the '17s should be coming out soon, as any anyone tried to swap the '16s LED tails onto their '13-15 RDX?

I saw a thread in the ILX section of a guy who did the LED swap on his '13-15 ILX. Thread here. He mentions the outer lights were plug and play, but the inner lights required a custom harness that he fabricated. Not sure if the ILX and RDX swap would be similar or in any way related.

 

And lose whatever remaining warranty you have on the electrical part involved.
I like the red / red combo of the existing setup than the red/Amber combo of the updated LEDs. I presume there must be some sort of programming needed for the SAM unit as well, in case they use CANBUS.

 

To each their own, but i like the look of the updated led tail lights. I was trying to see if anyone attempted the swap. As far as warranty goes, my car loses its warranty in about a year from now, so that's that not a huge issue.

its definitely a direct bolt on but that harness is totally different.

 

^ I have seen pics and the harness for each piece is different. I am going to look for wiring diagrams for each model's tail lights and see what i can find. I have a shop not too far from that does very good work with wiring and automotive electrical projects.

 

Has anyone else attempted this swap? Any idea where to get the harness from?
