Range on Speedometer

Does it bother anyone that the speedometer is spaced such that most of the time the needle lives in the left half of the dial? That is, when on backroads where the speed limit is 35 or 45, the spread on the guage is so limited, that it's easy to go over, or it requires a second look to almost confirm the speed? Fully a third or more of the guage is wasted.

Well, we could go back to those speedos that topped out at 85mph

Yes! I wished they had an option in the instrument cluster to display the MPH digitally. Looking at the oil life loses its luster after the first few hours.

I'm still watching the instantaneous fuel consumption for entertainment .

Completely agree! Why does it need to go to 160 mph?

Completely agree. So far, this has been my biggest annoyance.

I agree too. Unfortunately, I think just about every car does this these days - maximum, theoretical, ignoring the laws of physics speed... . I'd be ok if it was 100 or 120 maybe ...

140 tops, don't all of these cars cut off around 130 or so?

I never look at the analog speedometers in my GTI or my wife's Passat. I much prefer the digital speedometer in the center of the IP.
