My wife just bought a used 2013 RDX AWD Tech and I ordered a cargo cover from an Acurazine supporting vendor. The cover does not fit. The bar at the rear of the cover is way too wide to fit into the retaining slots on the sides of the cargo area. I know there are different part numbers for the Base model vs. the Tech model and I did order the correct part (as verified by the vendor). My wife called the vendor and was told that the cover can be adjusted and to take it to our Acura dealer. I think they’re yanking her chain. I see no way to “adjust” the bar other than taking a hacksaw to it. So I’m wondering if maybe they only make one cover now, which requires trimming to fit the Tech model. Does anyone know if this is actually the case? Thanks.

 

I doubt it.
you can push the cargo cover end caps inward on both sides, and the cargo cover snaps in pretty easily.
Sure you got the right cover for the RDX 2nd generation?

 

Don't know if you got install instructions, so here's copy.
Don't know what difference is between 1st and 2nd gen cover, but they are not the same.
You might have wrong gen version....what part number did you get?

Thanks for the reply. I had already downloaded the installation instructions but they're not much help. The cover fits fine at the "front" (I can compress the spring bar and snap it into the mounting clips behind the rear seats). But the bar at the "rear" of the cover is just too wide to fit into the slots. This is the part I ordered: 08Z07-TX4-230A.

 

That's so weird.
Send it back and ask for a replacement.

We called the vendor to see if they could explain how to “adjust” the cover (knowing full well that the thing couldn’t be adjusted). But after two attempts, and being placed on hold for 10 minutes each time, we gave up and made a trip to our Acura dealer. They had a cover in stock and, when compared side-by-side to the cover we were sent, it was obvious that we were sent the wrong cover, albeit in a box with the correct part number on it. So get this—our dealer gave us the correct cover and took back the incorrect cover under warranty as a defective part. That’s what I call great customer service, so kudos to Frankel Acura in Cockeysville, Maryland.

 

Lots of dealers should take a lesson from your dealer.
