Possible cause?

I opened the hood to check on fluid levels in our RDX yesterday. Here is what it looks like. There was road construction on our way home, but the water level is low. I just don’t know how it can splash like this. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

looks like mud to me...

Doesnt look like any important fluid....coolant will dry white...to me, that looks like a cream color stain. ie; sand, dirt or mud.

if it is coolant, check the reservoir and it's cap.

Thank you for the inputs! It does look like coming from the muddy water due to the road construction. However, I drove our Sienna on the same road with no splash into engine bay like this. Our local Acura dealership repaired the heater hose on the back of the engine in May last year. I am wondering if there is undercover missing after the repair.

very possible that the splash shield is missing or not attached properly.
may even be the wheel well cover/liner

I will stop by our local dealership this afternoon to let them take a look at it.
