Navigation question

Hello, really like my 2014 RDX awd/tech, is there any way to enter a town into navi without an address. For instance we needed to stop in a little town in rural Mn. Didn't have an address just wanted to drive there. Can you input town center without any more info. My old garmin nuvi had a "city center" option for inputting when no address available. Thanks a lot. M

Yes I believe you have multiple ways to do this, either by selecting the city, specifying coordinates, or selecting a spot on the map. I also have the 2014, but so far the Nav has been less than impressive. I think I'll still be taking the Garmin along, just in case

The method I use the most is to go to Destination>Place Name, then enter the town name and pick from one of the entries (hardware store, hotel, etc.), and use that.

Another technique is to go to Destination>Place Category>Community and look for courthouse, library, post office, etc. You can usually find something that way.

Short answer: No, there isn't a direct way to enter a town or city center, and to me that's a a failing we have to work around.

I considered Acura's nav to be the best on the market for years, but it's rapidly falling from grace for me, especially with this business of disabling features while in motion. I often find my iPhone is a better nav device than the expensive one in the car.

Thanks for the information, it will take a (place) as a navi destination (hard wear store etc.)
To bad you just can't use a town name. Other than that we love the car, and I'm sure more reliable than the VW I had!!! Only other disappointment no vents in the back seat. Not a big deal really. Thanks again
