Mpg

New to forum. Just got back from a 1500 mile trip to Las Vegas. Only nudged the speed limit, maybe 73 mph. And for passing power, 95mph was there in a blink! Got 28 mpg! That can't be right, the sticker said the AWD would only get 27! First time with XM and that beats the heck out of FM, but unsure as to what it will cost after the free period ends. Great riding car for road trips!

I am glad you had fun on your trip and pleasantly surprised by the mpg. I think when you run the gas down on road trips, it yields better fuel economy. Where you using cruise control?

As for XM, the price can vary quite a bit. I encourage you to do a search on XM radio here. There are a lot of threads discussing the price. In my Altima, I had CarToys install XM radio through a Pioneer Inno radio receiver. I am still in my 90 day trial on the TL but I am paying for the Inno. It costs $17.95 per mo. but I also pay for the XM Radio Internet streaming service. But if read the threads here, you can purchase it for much cheaper.

They should make you some offers when your trial is close to expiring. Don't jump at the first one. I got 2 or 3 offers but I didn't take it. I think the second offer was the best to extend your contract with them.

the MPGs in my MDX on hwy trips is 23-24mph avg 65+mph. the EPA rating is 20 mph. honda builds a nice engine that loves to cruise on road trips and sips gas rather than guzzles. it wouldn't shock me if you end up at 30mpg in your RDX on more road trips.

3G TL owners get well over 30-31 (i've seen some as high as 35) mpg when the EPA rates it at 29 mpg.

check out the XM radio threads to get the "deal". otherwise it'll be $180+/yr for the subscription. you'll probably get a bunch of flyers in the mail as your trial subscription ends. some with 6 mos deals, and some with annual deals. whatever you do, dont' give them your CC # for auto renew.
