Missing Panel?
Missing Panel?
I took delivery of my 2013 RDX with Tech Pkg today and I absolutely love the vehicle. It is smooth, handles nicely and the engine is peppy.
I ordered a set of WeatherTech floor liners and they arrived just an hour before taking delivery, perfect timing.
So, while installing them I put the liner in on the drivers side and got right down near the accelerator and brake pedals to push the liner down. When I looked up from that position I could see the steering rod and linkages and wiring etc. under the dash. I've never seen so many items exposed like that before in any of my prevous cars. My question is, is there a missing panel under the dash or does everyone's RDX look like that?
Thanks.

Congrats on getting your new RDX...I am sure the wait must have been torture
I just came and checked mine and sure enough, it has the same thing. Funny what you discover through these forums and when people get under various parts of their vehicles. At least, now you know there is nothing missing on your RDX

Welcome to the forum. The RDX is my second acura (plus a 2009 accord). I still own the first, a 1998 integra with 230k miles on it. Over the course of maintaing the Teg I have been amazed at the ways Honda builds cars to make them lighter and simpler to assemble. I realize most manufacturers have now adopted these techniques. Obviously a panel is not needed in that location - saves a few ounces, cheaper to build, one less thing to potentially rattle and one less thing to remove if repairs are needed in that area.

Thanks, the wait wasn't as bad as I thought it would be because this week my team was trying to hit a tight deadline so my focus was work the whole week which helped

I'm still trying to learn all the voice commands for various things but really enjoying the vehicle so far. My dogs spent the first ten minutes in the RDX sniffing all around. They gave it their approval as well LOL!
Thanks for checking out that panel under the dash, good to know its not just mine
