Lift gate panel gap causing rattling noise

When I opened my wife's lift gate (2014 RDX), I noticed a 1/2" gap on the driver side lower panel. The passenger side was fine. It looks like the panel was warped. I also noticed a rattle coming from the back. I assume it's the panel causing the racket. Anyone else with this issue or is ours an isolated case?

I haven't noticed any problems however there was a rattle caused by the license plate. Solved by using four screws, two on top and two on the bottom, rather than just the two on top in the plate mounting area.
