Just hit 133k miles on our 2013 and by the sound coming from the right rear, the brakes have finally had enough. Will know exactly what needs replaced next Wednesday.

When I first checked my front pads at like 80K miles I was amazed at how much life was left. I called Acura about it and at the time they were like, "yeah, 80K is nothing for those pads, but make sure you check the rear." Knowing that something around 85% of the braking force comes from the front in a car, and it's usually even higher in an SUV to keep them stable under hard braking, I asked why I should check the rear. Without a beat the guy said "they make the pads thinner in the rear so that they wear out first. Same with the rotors." And yes, it's true.

So upon installing these new pads and rotors I can clearly see more dust from the front than from the rear, but I'll always check the rear pads before the fronts now.
