Wassup all my aziners
I'm in Canada. So random I got a mail from the dealership. I currently have a 2014 RDX black Base model. Got about 52000 kms currently. So here is what the letter said: This is from the manager to a sales manager. And the subject is my car. So it says that we have a buyer looking for a 2014 Acura RDX and based on this customers service history it looks like their vehicle is in good shape and could be a good match. Make sure you let _______ know we can offer book value plus and don't forget the factory direct incentives for a new vehicle purchase- rates as low as 0.9% and rebates high as 6, 500 .
If ___ shows any interest in upgrading or selling us the vehicle outright then let see if we can push along and sweeten the deal with a trade bonus up to $1,000 or apply the loyalty interest rate discount!
Let's get the ball rolling on this before the buyer loses interest and our incentives change on us. We can keep this offer standing until Dec 2.
I hate dealing with sales people. Tell me your approach. Maybe PM me , no bs straight up.
A little bit about my whip. Recently done major services. Got the battery replaced under warranty. When bought new I had engine remote starter, rear cargo tray, all weather floor mats, undercoat rust protection, acura plus warranty for 6 yrs/ 90,000.
If you were me what would you do? I also realize its the end of the year. Also the 2019 rdx is coming soon for its reveal in march auto show. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Also from Canada and all I can say is I also got a letter in the mail from acura. It was worded differently but it essentially said your car is in high demand right now! bla bla bla we will give u a great deal on a trade in on a new acura!
I get these twice a year....they’re trying to sucker u into coming by their dealership so they can lowball your car and sell you something new. This is an old tactic....go there and take a steamy dump in the bathroom sink and tell them to trade that in.
it's a sales tactic to get you into the door.
Once in the door, they will "flip" you into a new car.
unless you are looking for a new car with your ducks in a row, it's always a bad deal.
IF you have your ducks in a row; downpayment, pre-approved for a loan, and ARE WANTING a new car....
it could be a great deal for you!
but basically this is a trick to sell you a car.

I live in New Mexico and I got the same letter AND a phone call from a sales person about the same thing (we have a buyer, excellent trade in price guarantee, only offered to select loyal customers, etc..). Whatever price they offer you now on the current line-up, the 2G RDX prices will drop by even more once the 3rd Gen RDX hits the road in a few months.

Back for a while when I owned a Ford, I remember going into the waiting room during service appointments and seeing this "hot cars" list on a whiteboard. It was a list of cars the dealership said they were looking for since they had buyers, or needed in their inventory. How did they populate the list? Each day sales would take a readout of the customers coming in for service, and in particular the cars they were bringing in. They would then re-create the "hot list" with that list of cars. So when an owner sat in the waiting room during a service appointment, they'd see their car on the hot list and perhaps be tempted to look at an upgrade. Gotta admit, it was a creative way to try and sell some cars. :-)

Back when I had many miles on my ‘01 TL they offered me full MSRP on the car. What’s that? An asterisk? Let’s see, less $0.xx per mile plus refurbishing costs. I don’t remember how I figured it out but I’d have to give them the car plus a 5-figure-number check, then buy the new one on top of that. Total sleaze. I got into an argument with the former GM about this but he saw nothing wrong in a little sleight-of-hand to make a deal. He said this “was not meant for” me, in that I can read.
Now that Warren Buffet owns the place, this BS has reduced a bit but not much. The GM now is a nice guy but that dealer group corporate-generated crap does slip through. Sometimes he doesn’t know it’s out there.
Oh, and on looking for specific models, one letter said they were in desperate need of a ‘91 Dodge Grand Caravan. This was about 2010 and 12 years after we dumped it. Or more recently, having a customer looking for a specific ‘99 Altima that my son dumped in 2006.

This is a sales tactics but sometimes true. If they have a buyer for your car and they have the maintenance history of it that fits the buyer. They will give you a good price for your car and sell you one at a huge discount. Don't forget the new RDX is on its way. So Acura is trying to get rid of 2017-18 models. At the EOD, it's a win/win situation. Dealers make good money from used cars and they will make a new sale at the same time.
Also, Acura is advertising up to $6.5K incentive daily on TV. If you are in the market to change your car, give it a shot!
If not, don't bother and ignore the email.
