Hands Free Siri Feature Update?

There was a lot of buzz back in the winter (January & February of this year) about Acura creating a software update that would enable drivers to press & hold the bluetooth button on the steering wheel and it would enable Siri on a linked iPhone.

Other than folks who were involved in the Beta 6 months ago, has anyone heard anything about the status of this?

Nothing here.

And I'll use the opportunity to again wonder out loud why my little cellphone can accept a spoken destination all at once (number, street, city and state) and that big chunk of hardware in the car has to have it spoon fed, tediously, one element at a time.

If carmakers can just integrate that one function into my car I'll almost forgive them for disabling nav and phone features while the car is moving.

There is another thread in here where recently we all contacted acura via email & twitter and got the same cookie cutter response with no new information.

I've read about Apple coming out with a version of IOS 7 that will run in car nav units and that Honda/Acura have signed up for it. Sounds like it pretty much turns the nav into an iPad. Anyone know any more about this? I wonder if it will be backward compatible with the nav units already out there.
