Grey or White. I'm Torn!

Hey guys so I have narrowed my choices to Graphite Luster Metallic or White Diamond Pearl both Tech package. Any pluses or minuses between the two colors? So far I have test drives two graphites rdxs and have a appointment to test drive wdp tomorrow. Just can't decided between the two colors.

i never understood asking the general public about a personal choice.

Direleton backs up my point by suggesting something TOTALLY different than what you are thinking

Actually white cars are easy to keep clean. They don't show the dirt like dark colored cars.Even winter salt shows less on white cars.

Silver cars hide dust best.

White looks a little plain to me. I think the depth of color is better in the GLM. I also agree black interior is the way to go.

Ask a car detailer.... White is actually the most challenging color to keep clean. It stains easily and is hard to keep perfectly white. Look at the areas behind the wheels on any white car you see.

Here comes a wrench in the equation. Have you considered Fathom blue pearl? I can already tell it is going to be rarer in the future and that will help resale (Like it did with my 2007 RDX in a similar color called royal blue pearl). Also comes with an exclusive interior color called grey stone which is a very attractive cream-grey color.

Interesting... do you know the breakdown of how rare each color is?

The blue was my favorite color but not available with black interior. The gray interior is too light and just doesn't look good with the rest of the interior colors. Black interior is the only way to go so get grey or silver exterior. You will not regret it.

Honestly not sure. But when the 2007-2012 RDX came out someone did a pole on here. For every color of the RDX and black, silver, or white were outnumbering blue by a HUGE HUGE margin. Something like a few hundred to one. In fact in person I have only ever seen 3 Royal blue pearl rdxs compared to the hundreds of other Colors. Even the new one I have only seen fathom blue pearl twice. Imho the most striking color.

I agree that the interior is very very subjective, I happen to love the grey with the almost 2-tone dash setup. I was a strictly no grey person, but I loved it in the 2016 dark MDX loaner I had. Personally though, I am neutral on black and love beige or saddle or red leather interiors very much.

I have the white diamond and love it. It doesn't dirty easy. My last car was gray and I grew tired of it as it's kind of bland after a while. I also have the tan interior and I love the light color. I will say that after 6 months of owning it, the top of the center console and the drivers door where I rest my elbow are already stained a bit. It's just me, though, so I don't worry about stains from kids, etc. If that's a concern, the darker interior would probably be the way to go.

Hardly --- I think you mean black or white. Metallic grey, properly clayed, washed, and polished is as classy and sharp as any color on the road. And if you aren't going to take good care of the paint it doesn't matter what color it is.

This is true. You need to keep it shiny for the car to look good. Otherwise, they're all the same.

I have a Lunar Silver Met. '17, a great Honda Motor Corp. color. Like it a lot. The Lunar Silver does a pretty good job of hiding dirt. I also have a '16 RDX in DWP....that's my 2nd one in that color. Also a great color. I've owned
many cars, trucks, SUV's over the years. The lighter colors do hide dirt better than darker colors. The darker the color the worse they look in a short time vs. lighter colors. I have found that white hides dirt the best...and one would
think that would not be the case....but, I'm real picky on how my cars look, and white wins out. I keep them well waxed and clean and have no issues with discoloring or staining. If you just let your vehicle "go" and don't
take care of the paint...maybe you will find or see some "issues" with the paint. When I trade my RDX's...or any car in...I'm often asked if I ever drove it much...they still look almost new. My '13 DWP I traded in was highly
detailed by me throughout my ownership. Even the door jams were waxed. I drove it on to the lot to pick up my wife's new '16 and the '13 sold while it was still sitting in the front parking lot and the dealer didn't even have a
chance to "check it out" before getting it ready for sale. Upkeep does matter. And, good used RDX's sell fast off of Acura lots. As do the new ones. I've owned darker grays and they were the hardest to keep clean and looking nice.
Owned ONLY 1 black car in my life and vowed to never own another black vehicle. They look nice when shiny and just detailed, BUT, they don't stay that way very long. Many of my friends over the years regretted having a black
vehicle. Some, loved them but did say they had to work their tails off keeping them looking nice. So, darker the paint, means more work to keep them looking nice since they do not hide the dirt and dust nearly as well as much
lighter vehicles. That's IMHO after owning over 60 vehicles and talking with many car owners over the years. Consensus from all that??? Light colors hide the dirt better and need less work overall to keep looking nice. Same with
black interiors....they show ALL the dust very quickly after wiping them down. They too take a lot of work keeping that new car look. My graystone interior and my wife's Parchment stays looking nicer much longer. I keep the leather
cleaned and conditioned and have had no issues with staining or dirt issues.

I agree that silver is probably best at "hiding dirt". Hiding dirt, however, is not the goal --- at least not for me.

Same for anything, light colors "hide" the dirt better. I came across the same dilemma on picking hardwood floor colors.. The darker color on the floor does look better to me, but then the lighter color can hide it easier, especially if you don't wanna do any work.

If you want to be easy, go for the lighter color.

When I had settled on the RDX, I then had to decide color. I initially favoured black but ya know what? Most SUVs around here are black. White is #2. Grey is #3. BTW, I did a ground up restoration back in the 90's of a 69 Cougar. Took me over 4 years. I chose metallic silver for the paint, it looked good with the black vinyl roof, hood scoop, chin spoiler and grille. So I'm not averse to silver...just gray <yawn>
