Foglight accessibility

I just switched out my OEM foglight bulb with the yellow H11 from Hella... look so much better in the rain and in snowy condition.

One thing I don't like about it is that Acura does not make changing the bulb easy. You basically have to take of the entire bottom splash shield just to change the bulbs.

It would have been nice if we can just pop out the bumper mesh where the foglight housed to change the bulb.

BULB REPLACEMENT

1. Release the inner fender (one hex bolt and two clips).

2. Insert your hand behind the inner fender. Unplug the connector from the fog light.

3. Remove the bulb.

4. Install the new bulb to the fog light.

• Use only a Genuine Honda halogen light bulb of specified wattage. Rating: 12V 55W H11 Halogen Light Bulb P/N 33165-STK-A01

• Do not touch the bulb. Oily or greasy substances on the bulb can shorten its service life due to the heat produced when the bulb is turned on. If the bulb is accidentally touched, wipe it clean with a soft cloth that has been dampened with denatured alcohol or a mild detergent solution.

• When installing the new bulb, align the cutout on the fog light with the tab on the new bulb and turn the new bulb clockwise until it locks. If the bulb is not installed properly, the fog light may annoy oncoming drivers.

5. Reinstall the removed parts. Check that the wire harnesses are not pinched. Be sure to tighten the clips and bolt securely.

6. Check the operation of the fog light; adjust the aim if necessary

Hi,

Thanks for the info...Let me look (when it is NOT raining anymore) to see if I can see a one hex bolt that hold two clips. I looked around and can't seem to find any good short cut beside popping out all the sixteen or so clips that hold the bottom splash shield.

I don't have picture of before and after but I like the "yellow" fog much better than the stock light. Foglight light should looks like a foglight (bright yellow is my favorite and this Hella H11 does just that) instead of the regular yellowish/redish stock light.

I also have the Hella yellow fog light bulbs (Optilux H71071132 XY Series H11). Best color for fog lights if you use them as intended.

On either side of the car look at the bottom of the inner fender where it connects to the bumper. The bolt is the first fastener on the corner and one clip is the next toward the centerline. The other clip is inside the inner fender in front of the tire about the height of the wheel lug nuts. Once you have those three (on each side) removed the inner fender will be able to flex back enough to get your hand up to the back of the fog light socket.

I'm planning on installing Hoen yellow fogs. I've had them on previous vehicles and they are awesome. They match the OEM fog spec.
