First impressions 2015 RDX

Previous vehicle: BMW X3 3.0i (2005)

I really like the RDX but there are few things that keep me from loving it:

- no way to input new destination while vehicle is in drive -- even if you are the PASSENGER
- no front parking sensors. audio is important!
- no cargo light (at least i can't find one)
- no heat/ac vent for rear passengers
- no heated steering wheel. i thought this was a gimmick until i used it in the X3 during the winter.
- low resolution navigation display (i expected better)
- no SH-AWD option
- no scheduled maintenance (actually i could live without this provided they addressed everything else)
- no "easy" way to switch between multiple bluetooth phones

I didn't buy a MDX because of size/look not because of price. So I feel annoyed that Acura didn't offer more high end RDX options like SH-AWD.

There are 2 cargo lights. When the hatch is in the raised position, look up and you will see one on each side. There is a little black switch on the light itself that you need to switch it on.They have it like that so the battery does not get drained if you leave it up during the daytime.

I read here where the lack of vents was a problem,so when I had passengers for the first time back there,I had cranked up the fan output, but they said "turn it down,it's too cold back here",they felt it being such a small cabin, they were comfy. It was a hot day, too. Maybe that's why they left it out?

I'm just glad that it still has a spare tire..I completed the latest new owners survey, and Acura wa asking if I felt having a spare tire.or just a can of fix-a-flat was the best....and also if I would mind if I had to pay $250 for a spare tire option?

I wish the navi was more user friendly.I still need to schedule a demo session with the salesman. The instruction book is around 200 pages....

I reported the best feature on it to me was the excellent HID lighting at night.I love the way the beam is so wide across, especially in deer populated areas.

How is the fit and finish on yours? My 2015 came with several defects in that area.

Thanks. I'll check the hatch tonight. I'm also glad for the spare tire. Fit and finish seem perfect. As for vents, I'll have to see what a New England winter feels like for my rear passengers. They have complained about not getting air flow so there is a problem. It's a question of how big of a problem.

Common complaint. Didn't you test drive the car?

RTFM
- no heat/ac vent for rear passengers

Common complaint - but - many don't feel it is required.
- no heated steering wheel. i thought this was a gimmick until i used it in the X3 during the winter.

Didn't you test drive the car and read the specs?
- low resolution navigation display (i expected better)

- no SH-AWD option

See what you think about the current AWD in the winter. The typical RDX driver would never have any benefit from SH-AWD
- no scheduled maintenance (actually i could live without this provided they addressed everything else)

Of course there is scheduled maintenance - you just have to pay for it - or - spend an extra $1k and pay for it up front. You don't think you were paying for it with BMW?
- no "easy" way to switch between multiple bluetooth phones

Depends on your definition of "easy". A few clicks and mine is changed - but then again - I RTFM.

Then why did you buy an RDX if even scheduled maintenance appears to be a dealbreaker?

@rdxrob,
All these things you listed actually made me like the car even more, except the rear a/c for the kids.
