You lookin' to curl them up like a snorkle ?

After trying to keep the XC60 tips looking spiffy, I'm glad not to have them exposed.

Totally agree, one less thing! Out of sight, out of mind.

I've always kinda liked to see "proper" dual exhaust outlets on vehicles. Some look "stuck on" as an after thought, and some are "blended" into the rear fascia....ala...Cad. CTS...and many other brands.
The '13 RDX has a neat, clean design for the back end....and I don't seem to miss seeing "duals" sticking out the back. Actually the MDX has had them forever...but, they ended up to large and truly don't "blend" into the design of the rear end. It could be done in the RDX but, the designers didn't do it, and I'm sure it saved money for us buyers.

What I really like is this. I know there are 2 very large outlets from the horizontally mounted muffler...that are just out of sight....and when I step on the throttle from a standing start you can actually hear the engine and exhaust system "growl" and it does move out!!!
Would I like to see a "fancy" designed....blended into the rear fascia....some kind of polished aluminum exhaust outlets....sure would.
But, to "hang some aftermarket tips" on to what we now have would look cheap and not what I would do. It would "trash" the looks of the rear design.

Agree that they could have done more, but...at what cost and really what purpose. Drove behind what I'm guessing is a newer model Mercedes GLK, and the rear lights are some led arrangement that looks like neon tubes almost, very stylised, and the bottom of the bumper had a chromed area that housed the exhaust tips and all. Was thinking it looked really good, but also realized that the price points on the two are way far apart...that car probably stickered for easily 5K more than my own....and the Acura will likely be much more reliable long term. So..the merc was more modern, had more design elements...but not worth it to me. Audi is the same. They are tops in design, but you pay for it up front, and they have had a rough time on reliability over the years. 10 years from now, my vanilla little RDX will still be purring along, tips or no tips.... Plus...I never see the back of my car anyway....
