The MDX is really a 5 passenger vehicle, if the loss in MPG's doesn't bother you, I would take another hard look at the MDX.

Honda's awd system is very good, but sh awd is even better!

also the reason Im not interested in the tech package is I get migraine headaches that can be triggered by loud noises, so I always keep the music to a minimum....I dont see why I would need ELS since I cant enjoy it....also I have a garmin gps

any reason to buy the tech package given above comments?

I'm also debtaing between tech or non-tech and really wish Acura would offer individual options. The power tailgate would be really useful for my wife and I want HIDs. However I don't need the upgraded sound or nav.

Not really. You can have the dealer put on fogs if you want and I believe you even can change out the headlights but I see no real NEED to. My other vehicles have halogens and I don't have a problem with them. The back door is handy at times but certainly not worth the money if you don't want the NAV/ELS. Depending on where you live I would even debate the need for AWD. I live in Chicago and I barely need it. If you live in a warm climate all the time I would really consider getting just the FWD. You could get into a FWD base for a very nice price I belieive and be more than satisfied.
