Check power steering system on 2015 Acura RDX on frozen morning

Hi,
This morning it was -30 degrees and I remotely started my 2015 Acura RDX for 20 minutes, when I went in the car I got a message "check power steering system" and I noticed that I can't turn the wheel.

I left the engine running for 40 minutes and the message is no longer displayed, and the steering wheel turns easily, this is the first time I've had this message with my 2015 RDX since purchasing in 2018.

Should I go to the garage to check it?

Any suggestion ?

Thanks

Personally, if it were my vehicle, no...not unless it starts doing this consistently. My wife's 13 RDX is garage kept and has never displayed the same message. However, our 09 TSX is an "outside car" and has displayed the same message a couple times in extremely cold weather. The message and steering lock went away with warming up the car as it did with yours...with no other residual issues.

Good luck!

Try a new battery, your battery could be getting weak in the cold weather.
