Busy Steering Wheel

Busy Steering Wheel
I am considering purchasing a 2014 RDX base model. When I took it for a test drive I felt that all the buttons, levers, etc. on the steering wheel was a bit too much. It seems as though they might interfere with driving, particularly in an emergency. I notice that other models in the Acura line have reduced the "busy-ness". I also see other car makers that have much tidier steering wheels. Has anyone experiences angst or actual steering issues?

I haven't driven the RDX but from the photos, the steering wheel looks basically like mine (2010 TL Tech, SH-AWD). It won't get in your way. I've had no issues and love the way it works. The buttons and sticks off the wheel all work in a well designed manner. I think you will quickly find it works well for you too.

The buttons on the steering wheel are a convenience, not a distraction. Check the RLX if you want to see even more buttons - the ones for the "smart" cruise control, etc.
If you don't want to use the steering wheel buttons, don't - they won't get in the way of driving.

My .02 & Worth Just That
As an aside, I trained myself many years ago to memorize the location/feel of my steering wheel buttons, thus my eyes RARELY go to the wheel & they can stay focused on the glass I am looking thru. As always YMMV applies.
