Unhappy Brand New RDX - flat tire on 4th day

On evening of the third day i did notice that tire pressure of the front right tire was lower as compared to other three, 31 vs 35. By the evening of fourth day it went down to 12.

I am astonished, this is the first time in my life i decided to splurge on a luxury car (always been a honda/toyota guy) - and i get this :-(

Flat tires can happen to any car/truck/vehicle. You can't blame or single out the RDX for a flat......

Which means what?

I've been driving for 30 years and have only had one flat. That was in an Oldmobile. I've driven lots of Hondas, Nissans, a Ford, and for the last 10 years Acuras. Definitely don't follow what you are saying.

Actually I just remembered I had a tire go flat on the highway and it was in our 2004 Odyssey. I picked up some construction debris after going through a work zone. Was that the fault of the Odyssey?
I understand not wanting to potentially have to buy a new tire on a four day old vehicle, but it can happen..........

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Years ago I bought a brand new car and a tire puncture occurred on the side wall. No one would take the job to fix (not repairable). Had to buy a new tire, no warranty

i've picked up nails twice in 3 weeks which produced slow leaks in my TL. It's annoying, but it happens. It all depends on where you drive.

Go to your local tire shop (find a coupon if possible for a free tire repair). I didn't pay a dime to get my tire patched. Sometimes your dealer might be nice enough to take care of it for you as well (had that happen once when i was in for service in my TL). It's not the car's fault...just bad luck.

A flat tire is annoying at any time. Do you know what caused the flat? Take it to tire store and see what caused it. Might be under Michelin warranty or repairable.

You do know that Acura IS Honda, right?

Can you tell us what the problem was, and whether you still feel it was somehow Acura's fault?

When you saw it was at 31 you should have taken action by waiting you may have damaged it beyond a simple repair. (Termed as a "run flat" in the tire biz.)

Same happened to me. Had the dealer seal the hole, seems to be holding up after 5k miles. Fingers crossed, would hate to spend 400 bucks on a new tire.

I used to get flat tires in Miami on a yearly basis in my Audi. Then I moved to South Carolina and had NONE in the last 1.5 years. My Audi must like South Carolina.

Seriously, it's like saying you bought a brand new car and got rock chip so you blame it on the car, not on the dump truck dropping pebbles on the road.

Has nothing to do with the RDX. I had the same thing happen to my BMW 335i in the first week of ownership. Had a nice nail in the sidewall. 18 inch run flat tires are not cheap either. Can happen to any car at any time.

On the third evening that I bought my car, a bird flying in the sky pooped on my roof. With my previous car, I didn't get pooped on by birds until at least a year into my ownership.

I knew I should have known better than to believe that my luxury car is somehow better that my Honda/Toyota. I will never buy another luxury car again!

Yes, this is probably the stupidest thread I've ever seen.

I agree with the OP and I don’t understand the heat he is getting. I bought my new RDX and on the second day I got a speed ticket; … and I had not gotten a ticket for 8 years when driving other non-luxury brands. This damn luxury car is the culprit!!!!

Have had slow leaks in tires over the years. Just happy they could be repaired. Now with flat tires I becamegood at changing them when necessary.

One of the pamphlets included in your owner's manual outlines the Lemon Law guidelines for each state. You may want to consult this manual and/or consider contacting your state's Attorney General. You are paying him/her taxes to take care of these sorts of issues. Good luck!

Well, if it makes you feel better, I drove my new Sienna out of the dealership and ran over a huge bolt the next morning, punctured the tire, and had to replace it for $280 because it is my damn fault .

I purchased a new VW Passat back in 1998 and took a then girlfriend to movies. I came out at 10:30pm to find a flat tire on the same day I bought it. It sucks but it has nothing to do with your car. That Passat went on to give me 96K trouble free miles before I traded it.
