Braking 2014 Acura RDX Technology Pkg
I just recently got a used 2014 rdx from the dealership. I started to notice whenever I braked, there was a slight rumbling noise and I could feel it in the brake. Is that normal, or should I take it into the dealer?

I bought it used and I'm not sure if it has had its brakes replaced, is there any way to check that? Or should I just bring it into the Acura dealer to see what they say and bring up the notice?

Yeah, I went it and the dealer told me that it might have been rust that was causing the problem. He said that the brakes were already replaced and after driving a couple of days, the noise should go away.

Seriously!
Op please explain the logic to me. Vibration caused by rust = old brakes that rusted causing vibration, I am trying to understand how new brakes without rust = causing vibration if they don't have rust and why a few days would make it go away?

Yeah, I was skeptical as well. But the dealer said that if the noise doesn't go away in a couple of days, I should go back. I'm pretty sure that he just says that because they don't want to go through the trouble of replacing them.

Then you need to make absolutely CERTAIN you go back in a few days and demand the problem be fixed. Dealers love playing the waiting game when you come in and hope if they wait you out, you will stop going. No keep going till it is fixed, be persistent.

Yeah, I will. It's been a few days and the noise is still there.

I'm with you this time as I'm experiencing the same squealing noise while braking. My dealer visit is next week. Will see how it goes.

Mine was making a high pitched squeal such as you would hear from a musical instrument like flute. There was no judder or grinding. The dealership repeatedly asked me about grinding noise but I said no. May be it would have been better if I had taken a video/ audio recording to help them out. My new discs look so shiny

I'm actually noticing a vibration in the car when I'm traveling at 60-70mph on the highway after this recent disc replacement. Maybe it was there before but not prominent as much. It's is mot related to braking or acceleration but simply driving at speed. It drives fine on city roads. I've got an appointment to get it checked out. Will see what they say. The lady answering the phone thinks that tires need balancing.
