thanks again!

I've had that article for ages but never got around to reading it till I noticed something attached to the negative battery post of my 2017 RDX. At first I thought it was a battery temperature sensor since battery charging (end voltage) is temperature dependent. But it appears that it is far more than that. Other on-line articles show a chip in that module.

Sensor attached to the negative battery post (top right). Ignore the battery maintainer harness attached to the battery.

Close-up of that sensor...

That's interesting. Thanks for the info. I didn't know they did that. Now I'll have to check mine to see if it works that way.

Mark down a 2015 rdx, with a dead cell in the battery. Confirmed with my volt meter 14.1 when engine is on and it after it shuts off drops drastically until it reaches 10.42. Ran to Walmart and got a Ever start Maxx with a 3 year warranty and extra 2 year prorated warranty. Of course im 6k miles from the warranty period and Acura told me that the 100 month warranty only applied to bought replacement batteries which doesnt make too much sense since its the same battery i have.

Anyone know if the 2 volt fluctuation is damaging to any of the electronics?
