Acuralink

Hi Guys,
Little over a week since I've owned RDX. The display popped up a few times asking if I wish to register for Acuralink.
I'm sure many would have used it already. How user friendly is it? Can someone give any feedback about it. I believe there is a free 30 days subscription. How much does it cost afterwards...? Is it any good... or just a waste of money? Thanks in advance.

Acuralink isn't a subscription service and I'd bet you a dollar to a hole in a donut that you can't get it to work.

Thanks, but I didn't understand what does it entail? Does it allow to search for navigation, or is it social media (not my favorite anyway), or stolen recovery service...???

Does the RDX really have AcuraLink Next Gen or is it the basic AcuraLink. AFAIK, the 2014 RDX has the basic AcuraLink which is next to (if not entirely) useless as it allows you to get messages from Acura and make appointments - that's assuming that you can actually get it to work with your cell phone. I haven't found a VZW or Sprint Blackberry or iPhone that works.

the Next Gen AcuraLink isn't available on the RDX, only RLX and MDX. since the 2015 RDX is out and nearly identical to the 2013-14, this *may* appear as a mid-model change on the 2016.

and, for the record, i have never been able to get AcuraLink to work properly.

At least the manual and specifications say that Acura link is available. So that is the basic version. I'm getting the impression that it's not worthwhile to proceed with this. Do I have to pay for a subscription in this case (basic version )??

AcuraLink (old gen) is a basic version of the ne-gen basic. I know of nobody who has gotten it to work and when it does, it allows Acura to send you maintenance reminders and schedule appointments. It does not have online manuals and uses airtime (data) on your cell plan - assuming that you are one of the two Acura owners worldwide that has gotten it to work. Look up "useless" in the dictionary and you see a description of the first gen AcuraLink. It is not subscription based and costs nothing. You don't get your money's worth.
