Acura marketing division needs to improve in one key area
The Acura commericals are generally well done and high tech. The Chicago auto show video of the 2016 RDX was cool, had strands of DNA and cyber/steam punk futuristic music playing.
One major area they need to improve on in their ads: they need more female models in their commercials... and not just the commercials. At auto shows, show rooms, maybe even special sale days at the dealerships... get more female models. This will help to elevate the brand. This is especially true for the new Acura NSX that is coming out. They hardly had any female models when they were giving a sneak peak of the vehicle. And I'm not talking trashy looking females in revealing clothing, I'm talking classy looking ones in professional yet attractive attire.
We already know they make great vehicles. Their advertising lags behind some of the competitors, a large part of this is lack of female models. If Acura improves marketing in this way, it will greatly sharpen and elevate the brand.

I think car companies are still looking at males being the primary decision maker for automotive choices. I don't think most car companies have the same % of women/minorities in decision making positions that represents the general population. You mostly find males in the show rooms, service dept, and parts dept. The only time you see females is maybe 1-2 sales person or billing department. Even most advertisement companies are mostly males in trying to decide what sales.
Most car commercials are geared towards logical aspects of the car like HP, TQ, 0-60 speed, tow capacity, handling, mpg range, etc... Those are all the things my wife doesn't give a crap about.

Once grown up, rocky should consider the increasing numbers of female decision makers in the purchase of cars like the RDX.

Ummmmm NO. Acura wants sales to go up, not down! Who said anything about intelligence? These models are hired for their looks to complement the great looks of the current Acuras.

The Acura is more of a masculine brand overall. With more showroom and commercial models, many more male buyers will get Acuras. A brand like Lexus is more feminine, especially the rx350.

Also, are you implying the MDX is a manly vehicle? Have you seen the number of soccer moms driving them?

rocky would buy it. Pay extra too.
Wasn't rocky one of the kids that broke out of daycare in Hungary last week to go buy a sports car with their lunch money?

I'm confused. Didn't Rocky say he didn't like all the female attention? Now he wants females showcasing the cars?

I think I rather be driving a chick magnet than a dick magnet if I was still on the market.

I didn't get the 2016 RDX solely to attract women. It's more of a side effect. Women do find it attractive. It's an incredibly beautiful and classy vehicle. You should see the pearl diamond white colour in the bright sunlight and in the night moonlight. This vehicle looks awesome both day and night. I parked beside a new Audi and a new Mercedes recently, the 2016 RDX is much better looking especially from the front. I activated the powerfolding mirrors--don't want their cars accidentally scratching mine!

My wife thinks the Land Rover Evoque is a beautiful CUV closely followed by the Audi Q3/Q5. Both are too small for everything we need in CUV in my mind; but, perfect in my wife's mind. She commented how the previous gen Acura's were leaning more toward masculine compared to the more neutral current gen. Comfort, exterior styling, interior design and color combos, and ease of use are way high on her list than HP, best in class XXXX, or road handling.

I thought the Audi q5 was roughly the same size as the RDX. I did look at all those cars you mentionned. The Evoque and q3 are good looking but yeah I found it too small and only 4 cylinders. The q5 doesn't look as good as those two but has a v6. Audi's have a reputation for needing expensive repairs also. My neighbour has a q5. I find the tail lights to be too disproportionately big vs the rest of the back. The front grill is too big and plain looking and the head lights are too wide apart. The Audi exterior looks very plain to me.
