Abusing My RDX
Abusing My RDX
Well, I have abused my RDX (Sorry weather). I used my baby to haul four adults, four pair of skis, four pair of ski poles and four large boot bags from my house to local ski resorts for the last four days. It was jammed full, not another item would have fit. But, thanks to some padding applied in strategic locations, there are no scratches anywhere in the interior. But, alas, there are a couple of nicks on the rear area below the tail gate. Oh well, maybe some touch up paint or a trip to a body shop will restore my baby to pristine condition.

^^^ Oh Jim.....If you lived closer, I'd have to give you a spanking for the abuse given to your RDX (laughing) That being said, I had a good chuckle that you felt compelled to apologize to me personally....I feel like I have an image of being anal here *lol*
If you lived closer, I'd help you get your RDX in pristine conditions.....and for the record, glad you enjoyed your skiing adventure.

I am happy to read this! As an avid snowboarder, my next vehicle MUST MUST MUST be good to hit the mountains. Good to know the RDX did so well.
Did you put the skis up on the rails or did you fit everything into the cargo area? What color interior do you have? Curious to know how the interior colors hold up to some "abuse."
On another note... where did you go skiing? I see you are in Utah? Park City? I just vacationed in Park City for a week in January. (Much nicer than the snow conditions out East here in NJ and PA).

I have skied all of the areas in Utah, but my favorite is Solitude where I have my season pass. Sunday morning was spectacular! Three inches of powder on the groomed runs.
Good luck, Jim

I was a ski bum in Park City 1970-1972. 5,000 beds and one flashing yellow light at the bottom of Park Avenue. My how that place changed! Skied Solitude several time then and enjoyed it. There is no bad skiing in Utah! My car then was "Freddie Falcon" a 1963 ford falcon. No heater, no snow tires, never got stuck!
Napoleo,
i can assure you RDX is good for the winter....and all sorts of mountain challenges....
we still have a very snowy winter up here in Canada and i was driving thru some northern Parts of Ontario and went to MT. Tremblant in Quebec under some really tough driving conditions....
To be honest i was really surprised how RDX handled it.....For a SUV (sports and on a lighter side) it didnt swirl at all, no sliding or any issues seeing....i was caught twice in a big snow storm, first one had more than 50cm in a night and i had to drive for 6 hours thru that to get to the cottage ....and 2nd had 'only' 30 cm in a night and i was driving to the mountain 4 hours right thru....no issues what so ever....even with all season tires....had to be more cautious than usual, but no issues braking or accelerating....one of the best cars i ve driven in snow conditions....without a doubt

We just put the rear bumper applique from Acura on an RDX AWD Tech demo being used by our general manager, and it is well placed given the easy scrape-age of the rear bumper. Hope you can clean yours back up.
