I have 167K miles on 2014 RDX. Got the A1235 this week. I have changed the filters. I usually get the A1 done at the dealer for $40. Last time I changed the Transmission and transfer case fluid, I paid $308 to the dealer. I know I should try to do it myself and save money. I have trip coming to LA next week. Want to get this out of the way.
What is involved in replacing engine coolant?

I just saw service specials at a dealer in Anaheim, CA where I am going to next week.
Transmission fluid replacement $110
Coolant replacement $100
I will have to find out what they will charge for transfer case fluid replacement.
Do these prices sound somewhat reasonable?

 

Sounds fair to me. I would have them do it at that price as it is a lot easier on a lift.

 

How many gallons of coolant is needed when replacing?

I had oil change today morning at local dealer. They told me I need $1229 worth service including all of the above + brake flush + rear differential fluid +120K +150K blah blah

I showed them the coupons and asked to match and they said they will never match those. I told them they will never get any business from me other than oil changes. Pleasant guys to talk to but greedy mofos.

 

Was quoted 650 for A1235 - this is in sugarland texas
