3D Navigation?

Does anyone know where I can find a review on Acura's 3D navigation system?

Sure. I'll give you a review. It''s not 3D, it's more birds eye view. Only the angle changes and you don't see building structures, hills, mountains etc. like a real 3D system offers. The navigation in the RDX has always been, and continues to be absolute crap compared to what you can get on your iPhone for $5.

I like the RDX. I'm now on my 3rd one, but the nav has always been the weak point for me.

Also, I live on a street that's about 3 years old. Still not on Acura's map. Their data is always about 5 years old.

I had an 15 MDX tech loaner the last time I had an oil change. Acura Navi really hasn't change in quality compared to my 06 TSX w/ Navi; just added features (3D, traffic, weather). Same range in colors, same types of voice commands, and same hit/miss on addresses 1-3 years old range. I was expecting 3D with elevation, buildings, hills/mountains, etc... Acura 3D just tilts the screen away from you; it is like reading a book at a 45 degree angle with more/less of the skyline showing (it just shows less road info on a already smaller screen compared to my 11 MDX).

At least the previous gen 2D Navi isn't trying to be something it is not. In my opinion, it is just Acura way to check the 3D Navi box meeting the minimum amount of effort to qualify.

I was really hoping for something like this in the future of 3D navi:

I think expecting elevation change would be a stretch. I use waze almost on a daily basis and even waze doesn't provide elevation changes. I know Mercedes provides buildings on their navigation, and I think it's a major step up.

Besides the old map style and old data, even the passenger cannot manipulate the nav while the car is moving. Only voice command is available. So much limitation. I would use my Garmin instead.

Try driving on a road that has been in existence (previously was a major highway!) for more than 70 years and the '15 RDX says "you are now driving in an unverified area...".

I have streets that are over 10 years in existence and are not in the '15 RDX BUT are in our '13 CR-V's built in Navi.

Acura is useless in the navi area.

Would you rather move into a new house which is on Acura's map?
