2nd Gen Seats same as 1st Gen?
For those that bought a first generation and a second generation RDX, are the seats contoured the exact same way?
I have back problems and my first gen RDX has been the only vehicle I can drive 20+ minutes without some pain. I am not good with judging subtle differences in seats until longer drives that salesmen do not appreciate.
A google search doesn't mention redesigned seats, but I doubt many people would pay much attention to this other than me.

I think I've seen at least one person on these threads who was a 1G owner. Hopefully they can probably give you a comparison of the seats. If you're looking at a trade-in, I would hope a dealership worth your time would let you have a longer test drive than 20 minutes. Maybe get a 2G loaner the next time you take it in for service?

Mcfroggin - I have the 2nd Gen RDX and I have horrible back issues. I even had a spinal fusion with laminectomy and still continue to have spinal stenosis along with compressed disks above the fusion area.
With that said, I have no issue driving or sitting for long periods of time in my RDX. Before I even test drove my car, I ended up discussing the vehicle with the sales man for over 2 hours sitting in the car. I had to ensure I would be able to sit anywhere in the car without issues.
Talk to the sales guy and tell him you have back issues. See if they can allow you to go for a longer test drive or just sit in the car and talk.

It's amazing how comfortable I am in the RDX yet my wife's '10 Accord is torture for my back. We've talked about getting her into a TL/TSX/TLX just to avoid this even though we're otherwise thrilled with the new Accord.

Not the same exact seats, but close. The Gen 1 seats were bulkier. I think they cut some fat off the seats to save weight on the Gen 2, but they look flimsier.
In all honesty these seats make my upper back between my shoulder blades hurt after a while. I don't remember having this issue with the Gen 1. I also think the seat back is shorter in Gen 2 because I have to raise the headrest. I never had to raise the headrest on my Gen 1.
