2G 2017 RDX - Tailgate filling with rain water
I looked for anything on this but found almost nothing.
I did find something about a hole in the tailgate behind the license plate and car washes which would imply pressurized water - hose or pressure washer - that would get water into the "hole".
In my case, every time we get significant rain - not necessarily driving rain - when I open the tailgate after words I get a small deluge of water pouring out of the tailgate from holes up near the hinges.
(OK, DOWN near the hinges in terms of gravity when the tailgate is lifted.}
This kind of suggests the "hole" isn't the source. It seems too much water for natural drainage during rain for it all to be just "running in" through that hole.
And it does not seem to be draining from the drain holes in the bottom of the tailgate.
Sometimes I get the drainage at the hinges days after the rain as it's the first time I opened the tailgate.
I realize (from other thread) that the bottom of the tailgate is plastic below the chrome trim. But the amount of water suggests the latch (solenoid/contacts) could end up submerged.
Any suggestions?

I remember some water would always pour out when opening the hatch after getting it washed or from the rain with my RDX. I never had any issues when I still had it...

Nor have I. I have noticed the same thing--a surprising amount of water coming down when I open the hatch to towel things off after washing. No issues from it. It may be just the way the car is designed.
