2017 RDX Advance first impression
After the initial 10 days I can say that the RDX was a good choice. I really like the looks and size of the car.
Coming from a 2013 MDX and 2014 RX this are the pluses and minuses I found so far:
Pluses:
The car feels much more agile and eager than my MDX although the ride is a bit firmer on bumpy roads. Acceleration and braking are great.
To my surprise, I am liking the dual screen interface. Fingerprints are a problem though.
Infotainment in general is very good, particularly the Pandora integration. Years ahead compared with my MDX and RX.
Fuel consumption in mostly city conditions is about 20 mpg. That is 50% better that the cars above.
The rear view camera is much better than the MDX but not as sharp/night sensitive as the RX.
ELS sound system is pretty good.
Minuses:
The wheel mounted audio and cruise control are too small.
The front seats are a bit firmer than what I would like them.
Missing the power folding mirrors and power adjustment of the steering wheel.
Overall we are very happy with the car.

When I bought my 2014 RDX I could have had a 14 MDX for less, but the MDX did not have the push button start and remote you did not have to take out of your pocket. I had this with my 2010 TL, and it was a deal breaker for me, that and anytime I had an MDX, it was a pig on gas. The RDX is very good, particularly on the highway on gas.
Liked it so much my Wife now has it and have a 17 Elite (Canadian model). Mine has the power folding mirrors and a lot of goodies I could not get on the 14, like the dual screen, safety nanny's, which I am sue if they don't annoy me to death, will save me an accident, cooled seats, better navi, center readout display much better with colour graphics, etc. Just a good car for the money unlike the RX which is very expensive.
Count me as a happy owner.

I used the voice command navigation (new owner) for the first time while trying to locate a nearby pizza joint...
the voice return prompt gave a us nice review, price point and option to call or find directions to...so worked out great.
Returning with nav programmed to 'home' (my local coffee house) I really liked the window box between the dials showing the blue road direction and in the middle dash the split screen map that appears when driving in a maze of overpasses and exits.
the rdx is well suited for our need of a road trip car...around town it is clunky and feels like it needs to lose a few pounds

Just picked up my 17 AWD Advance RDX and love it. Previous car was an 07 MDX Tech+Entertainment so going to a smaller car with less features but more safety feature was a tough decision.
Things I miss in the MDX:
motorized telescoping steering column (how often do I change this? almost next to never but it was nice to have it motorized)
Storage space under cargo area - The 4 foot space for jumper cables, tow accessories, etc was really nice
Heated rear seats (damn you Canada!)
OEM hitch with 2" receiver - RDX OEM hitch is 1.25" so I went with a CURT hitch. Wife prefers OEM over aftermarket.
3rd row (rarely used but came in handy a few times)
Things I love in RDX:
Engine starter for these hot ass summer days
Ventilated seats
Safety features like ACC, LKAS, parking sensors
Push button start
Better gas mileage when I drive. Wife is averaging 18 mpg because she loves the torque.
LEDS headlights
Overall, I'm very please with the purchase. Biggest gripe is not being able to change to LED bulbs for the map light. Bulb is a yellowish LED soldered bulb so I can't swap it for a 168/194 type of bulb. Small potatoes compared to what I'm getting but if you are listening Acura.. let me change my map lights!
