2017 RDX (tech). After 90K miles began to experience a rattle that appears to be coming from behind the Odometer. Spend an hour tying to trouble shoot with no luck. Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this same issue and if so, how did you correct it. (Rattles...DRIVE ME NUTS.)

 

I also cannot stand rattles. I once had an intermittent rattle in an SUV that I swore was coming from the middle of the dash so I hired a tech at the local car stereo shop to trouble shoot on his own time for pay. He too thought it was coming from the center of dash and took apart the entire dash and sound proofed any and everything that potentially could have been causing the rattle. Once put back to together the rattle was still there, frustrating. He was determined to find the source of the rattle and finally out of desperation and elimination of potential sources opened the hood and fiddled around with anything loose or able to wiggle. He found a small diameter rubber hose that had a metal union that when the engine ran would knock slightly against, I think but can’t recall exactly, the valve cover intermittently. He zip tied it so it wouldn’t knock against anything, rattle gone. In summary, some sources of rattles aren’t all that intuitive to solve.
